Bishop Noll traveled to Munster High School Saturday night to take on the Mustangs in a non-conference matchup that was a rescheduled from an earlier date.
After Munster (7-3) jumped out to a quick 2-0 in the bottom of the first, the Warriors settled in and didn’t allow another run until the bottom of the 6th. Junior pitcher, Christian Ayala, was not phased by the early lead, giving up only two earned runs on five hits, while striking out three and walking two in six innings of work. The hard throwing right-hander also tallied only 70 pitches for the entire game.
Although Noll outhit Munster (6 hits to 5), the Mustangs were able to get two more insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth to preserve the 4-0 win.
Aiden Companiott and Matthew Salazar both went two for three at the plate while freshman, Mathieu Jadrych, went 1-2 with a walk.
The Warriors (3-3) return home on Monday to take on the River Forest Ignots at Irving Park. First pitch set for 5 p.m.
