Bishop Noll Institute fought hard during its first conference match-up against Griffith but couldn’t pull out a win, falling to the Panthers by a final of 13-6 on Monday night during the RailCats’ High School Challenge at U.S. Steel Yard in Gary.
Senior, Ryan Bradtke, put forth another solid effort, allowing six hits while striking out six in five innings of work. Of the seven runs Griffith scored in five innings against Bradtke and the Warriors, only three were earned.
Jack Poland (senior) led the way at the plate for the Warriors, going 2-for-3 while fellow senior, Will Peters, had a double and one RBI. Junior Hunter Laurincik was 1-for-2 with 2 RBI’s.
Noll is back in action this afternoon and will look to split the series with Panthers. First pitch set for 5 p.m. at Griffith High School.
