Bishop Noll didn’t hold anything back against River Forest Tuesday night, scoring 16 runs (10 of which came in the top of the sixth) on 12 hits to take down the Ingots in the first round of Sectionals by a final of 16-0.
Ryan Bradtke had a dominate performance on the mound and at the plate. The junior right-hander allowed only one hit and recorded eight strikeouts in five innings of work. He then helped his own cause by going 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles, four RBI’s and two runs scored.
Will Peters closed things out in the bottom of the sixth, striking out two of the three batters he faced. He also went 3-for-5 and had three RBI’s.
Jake Fuehrmeyer went 2-for-3 with two RBI’s while fellow junior classmate, Dominic (Sticks) Companiott, had two hits and two RBI’s.
The Warriors also locked down on defense to complete the shutout. Catcher, Devin Padilla, threw out three Ingots baserunners who tried to steal second base, two of which came in the bottom of the first to help preserve an early 3-0 lead for Noll.
With the win, the Warriors advances to the Sectional Semifinals today where they will take on Gary Roosevelt at Oil City Stadium. First pitch set for 5 p.m.
